Was there several minutes and went to the bar to order. Sadly, this place leaves much to be desired. First time there last night. On certain nights they have live music so that is always a plus. Get yourself something nice for getting something nice for someone else.
And I figured it was just a one off, so didn't write a review then. I heard a special guest would be joining them. The greatest selling point of this restaurant is that it is attached to the Hampton Inn. There was another couple sitting out there eating so we sat down. However, compared to any other restaurant or bar in the world, Murphy's Law is pretty middle of the road.
Stop by and get your viewing party tickets!! The sides were really disappointing. I love their Irish eggrolls but half the time I'm told they've run out or they are not available. It was actually 20% but was based on full value. The irony is that cabbage is dirt cheap and homemade slaw tastes great. I come to Murphy's often. Hostess brought us menus, but waiter didn't immediately come over.
Our waiter was there a minute later and we paid and left. No big deal as the choices weren't that great anyway. I love the atmosphere of an Irish pub, the cozy interior and of course the toe tapping music along with a selection of fine craft beers. The first time was with a group of 20 and it wasn't too busy there aside from us, the service was still terribly slow especially when all we ordered were apps and drinks. It's sure to be a great weekend with the Blues Jam finishing it off on Sunday!!! Good booths with comfy cushions.
We stopped in on our way through town. Decided to stop after leaving Providence fest on a Saturday afternoon. In all, they need to hire a chef who knows how to season side dishes and not just the long-cooking meats! The band start playing at 7:30pm, which is much too early for people whom want to dine and chat. Adding bangers to the menu doesn't fool us! I have no intention to go back. The velvet ribs and blackened chicken o'fredo were next. And I figured it was just a one off, so didn't write a review then. We finished our drinks and asked a server that walked by if we could get our check heavier set, mid to late 40s, glasses.
At a certain time they turn up their music extremely loud that I can't even hear myself think. The blackened chicken was pounded so thin that they couldn't get it to the proper color. Food: we ordered the chips and onion dip appetizer. Sadly, this place leaves much to be desired. Keep in mind, it was 8pm on a Wednesday, not a Friday or Saturday night, there were mostly just people having dinner and pairs having drinks, no reason for that level of sound. When you walk in the decor is appealing. My Murphy's outlook has changed drasitcally in the last three years.
The slaw was inedible and you could taste the packaging it had come out if. You can also pour your own draft in certain seats. We had burgers- which were greasy, but good. This ain't no Irish anything. I ordered the Irish Stew and, while good, it definitely needed some extra seasoning salt and pepper did the trick. I love the atmosphere of an Irish pub, the cozy interior and of course the toe tapping music along with a selection of fine craft beers.
The beer taps at the table didn't work. I would've given it a 5 star review but service was lacking, and some of the booths lighting was burnt out. Looked at some nachos that looked pretty good and ordered them. The final insult came when I received the bill with what appeared to be about a 25% gratuity included. Good location, plenty of parking.
Too many other fish in the sea. They have the changed buns for their hamburgers so many times that I've lost track and they still come out soggy. Their craft beer list is shooort! The dip could have been less subtle. My husband and I decided last time would be our last and we've stuck to it. She got a little busy, but still.
Overall, as stated above, the only real reason to come here is if you are staying in the hotel. Wait staff finally came to table and I ordered from her. I have been here twice now, and was not impressed either time. There weren't many people there in the bar or restaurant at all. Food was just average but not consistent.
